O Worship The King

sanctuary symphony series

To me, "O Worship the King" is a very majestic hymn. As I was considering the arrangement and the direction it was going to take, I began to imagine what the first day in Heaven would be like on the streets of gold and encountering people like Paul and John the Baptist and the disciples. and having conversation with them on the street.

I imagined walking down Glory Avenue and then taking a right on Hallelujah Blvd and seeing the face of our Savior and the demonstration of His love for us as He went to the cross. The arrangement has a feel to me almost of 'walking' as I was imagining myself walking on the streets of heaven.

As the arrangement comes to a stop, there's a huge fanfare section where I imagined seeing my Savior, Jesus on the throne at the right hand of the Father. At that point the nature of the music takes on the magnitude of the praise of millions surrounding the throne in worship to our God and Savior.

I've had so many people tell me after we've played that song about how they were so wrapped up in it and had tears down their face imagining what that day will be like.
